AH-64D Apache is an American twin-engine, multi-role attack helicopter. It is the primary attack helicopter of the United States Army and has also been exported to a number of other countries. The Apache has been used in combat in a number of conflicts, including the Gulf War, the Iraq War, and the War in Afghanistan. The Apache is powered by two General Electric T700-GE-701C turboshaft engines that produce 1,800 horsepower each. The helicopter has a maximum speed of 293 mph and a range of 476 miles. Apache is armed with a variety of weapons, including a 30-mm M230 chain gun, AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, and Hydra 70 rockets. The helicopter also has a variety of sensors, including a Longbow Fire Control Radar that allows it to engage targets beyond visual range.
