BMW 507 coupe 1959 is a grand touring convertible that was produced by German automobile manufacturer BMW from 1956 until 1959.
The 507 was conceived by U.S. automobile importer Max Hoffman who, in 1954, persuaded the BMW management to produce a roadster version of the BMW 501 and 502. The 507 was designed by Albrecht Graf von Goertz, and it was built by Karmann in Osnabrück, Germany.
507 was powered by a 3.2-liter V8 engine that produced 150 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. This engine was mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The 507 could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 8.6 seconds and had a top speed of 130 mph.
BMW 507 1959 was a luxurious and stylish car, and it was quickly embraced by celebrities and wealthy individuals. However, the car was also expensive to produce, and BMW lost money on each car sold. As a result, BMW only produced 252 507s before the car was discontinued in 1959.
Today, the BMW 507 is considered to be one of the most iconic and desirable cars ever produced. The car is rare and expensive, and it is often seen as a symbol of the golden age of motoring.
