The Cadillac NART (North American Racing Team) is a one-off sports car that was built in 1970 by Zagato. It is based on the Cadillac Eldorado and is powered by a 472-cubic-inch V8 engine that produces 400 horsepower. The NART is named after the North American Racing Team, which was founded by Luigi Chinetti in 1958. Chinetti was a successful racing driver who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times in the 1940s. He also imported Ferrari cars to the United States from 1954 to 1963. NART was designed by Ercole Spada, who was also responsible for the design of the Ferrari 250 GTO. The NART has a long, low body with a Kamm tail. The front end is dominated by a large grille and swept-back headlights. The rear end features a large taillight panel and integrated exhaust outlets. NART was built for Luigi Chinetti, who used it as his personal car. He also raced the car in a few events, including the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans. The NART was retired from racing in 1972 and was sold to a private collector. It has since been through a few owners and is currently on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Cadillac NART is a unique and stylish sports car that is a valuable piece of automotive history. It is a testament to the skills of Ercole Spada and the vision of Luigi Chinetti.
