Chevrolet Citation is a front-wheel drive, mid-size automobile that was manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet from 1979 to 1985. The Citation was available in two-door and four-door sedan body styles, as well as a five-door hatchback. It was powered by a variety of four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines, and was offered with a three-speed manual transmission, a four-speed manual transmission, or a three-speed automatic transmission.
Citation was introduced in 1979 as a replacement for the Chevrolet Nova. It was designed to be more fuel-efficient and affordable than the Nova, and it was offered with a variety of features that were not available on the Nova, such as a four-door hatchback body style and a diesel engine option.
Chevrolet Citation was a sales success in its early years, but sales declined in the early 1980s due to competition from Japanese automakers. The Citation was discontinued in 1985 after a six-year production run.
