Chrysler ME 4-12 is a high-performance concept car that was engineered, developed and produced by Chrysler in 2004. The name is a combination of the Mid-Engine with Four turbochargers on a Twelve cylinder engine. The auto show vehicle, unveiled at the 2004 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, took less than one year for design and development. The exterior design was done by American Brian Nielander. Chrysler announced at the 2004 NAIAS that the ME 4-12 was a full running prototype. ME 4-12 is a two-seater sports car with a mid-mounted, quad-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 850 horsepower and 1,150 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The ME 4-12 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 200 mph. ME 4-12 has a sleek and aerodynamic design. It features a long, low hood, a sloping roofline, and a large, rectangular grille. The interior is also luxurious, with features such as leather upholstery, carbon fiber trim, and a panoramic sunroof. The ME 4-12 was never intended for production, but it was a significant achievement for Chrysler. It showed that the company was capable of producing high-performance vehicles that could compete with the best in the world.
