Daewoo Cielo (also known as Nexia, Heaven, and Racer) is a compact car that was produced by Daewoo from 1994 to 2017. It is a development of the Opel Kadett E, which was produced in South Korea under the name Daewoo Racer. The Cielo was available in both sedan and hatchback body styles. It was powered by a 1.5-liter inline-four engine that produced 82 horsepower and 95 pound-feet of torque. The engine was mated to a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission. Cielo was a popular car in Russia, Ukraine, and other countries in the former Soviet Union. It was known for its reliability, affordability, and spacious interior. Daewoo Cielo was not a fast car, but it was adequate for city driving. It could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 12 seconds and had a top speed of 100 mph. Daewoo Cielo received a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
