Desert Vulture is an armored personnel carrier (APC) that was developed by the United States Army in the early 2000s. It is designed to provide protection for troops in combat zones. Desert Vulture is based on the Oshkosh M-ATV, a highly mobile, highly survivable vehicle that has been used extensively in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Desert Vulture features a number of modifications that make it better suited for desert warfare. One of the most significant modifications is the addition of a mine protection system. The system consists of a series of slats that are placed around the bottom of the vehicle. The slats are designed to deflect mine blasts away from the vehicle’s hull.
