The 308 GTB was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 1975 as a replacement for the Dino 246 GT. It was powered by a 2.9-liter V8 engine that produced 255 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque. The engine was mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The 308 GTB could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds and had a top speed of 155 mph. 308 GTS was introduced in 1977. It was the same as the GTB, but it had a removable targa top. The 308 GTS was also available with a three-speed automatic transmission. In 1981, the 308 GTB/GTS received a minor facelift. The most noticeable change was the addition of a new front bumper with rectangular headlights. The engine was also upgraded to produce 270 horsepower.
