Fiat Multipla 1998 was a compact minivan produced by Italian automaker Fiat from 1998 to 2010. It was based on the Bravo/Brava, and it was shorter and wider than its rivals. It had two rows of three seats, where its compact MPV competitors had two across front seating. Sales commenced in Italy in November 1998. In common with a number of other modern Fiats, the Multipla reused the name of an earlier vehicle, in this case the “Multipla” variant of the Fiat 600 produced during the 1950s and 1960s. Multipla’s design was controversial, with some people praising its innovative layout and others criticizing its unusual appearance. However, the Multipla was a commercial success, selling over 1.2 million units worldwide. Multipla was powered by a variety of engines, including 1.4-liter, 1.6-liter, and 1.9-liter petrol engines, as well as 1.9-liter and 2.0-liter diesel engines. The engines were mated to five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmissions. The Multipla had a spacious interior, with plenty of headroom and legroom for passengers. It also had a large cargo area, which could be expanded by folding down the rear seats. Multipla was equipped with a variety of safety features, including front airbags, side airbags, and anti-lock brakes. Multipla was a popular choice for families and businesses. It offered a unique combination of space, versatility, and affordability.
