Ford Falcon Tru-Blu is a limited-edition Australian car that was produced by Ford Australia in 1981. It was based on the XD Falcon sedan and was only available in the colour Tru-Blu, a deep shade of blue. Tru-Blu was built to commemorate Ford’s victory in the 1981 Bathurst 1000, which was won by the XD Falcon driven by Dick Johnson and co-driver John Fitzpatrick. Only 1,000 Tru-Blus were produced, and they are now considered to be collector’s items.
Tru-Blu was powered by a 2.8-litre six-cylinder engine that produced 115 horsepower. It was available with a four-speed manual transmission or a three-speed automatic transmission.
Ford Falcon Tru-Blu is a significant car in Australian automotive history. It is a reminder of Ford’s racing heritage and its commitment to performance.
