French Corvette Creole was a 24-gun corvette of the French Navy. She was built in Cherbourg, France, and launched in 1829. The Creole was a relatively small ship, measuring just 39 meters long and 12 meters wide. She was powered by a 300-horsepower steam engine and could reach a top speed of 12 knots. Creole was armed with 4 x 18-pounder guns and 20 x 30-pounder carronades. She was also equipped with a number of smaller guns and swivel guns. The Creole was a well-armed ship for her size and was capable of engaging both enemy ships and shore targets. The Creole saw service in a number of conflicts, including the Pastry War, the French invasion of Mexico, and the Crimean War. She was also used for a variety of other duties, including patrolling French colonies and escorting merchant ships. The Creole was decommissioned in 1861 and was sold for scrap. She was a valuable ship for the French Navy and played a significant role in a number of conflicts.
