The Gumpert Apollo is a high-performance sports car that was produced by the German company Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH from 2005 to 2013. It was designed by Roland Gumpert, a former Audi engineer, and was intended to be a rival to the Bugatti Veyron.
The Apollo was powered by a mid-mounted 4.2-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produced 650 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque. This engine was paired with a 6-speed sequential transmission and rear-wheel drive. The Apollo could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and had a top speed of 225 mph.
The Apollo was known for its aggressive styling and powerful performance. It was also praised for its handling, which was said to be comparable to that of a race car.
The Apollo was not without its critics, however. Some people found the car to be too expensive and too difficult to drive. Others argued that the Apollo was not as reliable as some of its competitors.
Despite these criticisms, the Apollo was a successful car for Gumpert. The company produced a total of 499 Apollos, and the car was sold in over 30 countries.
The Apollo was discontinued in 2013, but it remains a popular car among collectors. The car is often seen at car shows and other events.
