Hawkei Protected Military Vehicle is a light armored patrol vehicle that was designed and developed by Thales Australia for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). It is designed to provide protection for soldiers from a variety of threats, including improvised explosive devices (IEDs), small arms fire, and mines. The Hawkei is a 7-tonne vehicle with a crew of 2-3. It is powered by a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine that produces 190 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Hawkei can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 15 seconds and has a top speed of 90 mph. Hawkei is a highly mobile vehicle that can be transported by air, land, or sea. It can be equipped with a variety of weapons and equipment, including a .50-caliber machine gun, a 7.62-millimeter machine gun, and a grenade launcher. The Hawkei is in service with the ADF and has also been exported to other countries, including New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
