Kraz Kolchuga passive sensor is an electronic warfare support measures (ESM) system developed in the Soviet Union and manufactured in Ukraine. It is a relatively low-cost system that is able to detect and identify practically all known active radio devices mounted on ground, airborne, or marine objects. Kolchuga system is based on two KrAZ-260 off-road chassis. The first chassis carries the main antenna array, which is a phased array antenna that can scan a wide area of the electromagnetic spectrum. The second chassis carries the signal processing and analysis equipment. The Kolchuga system is able to detect and identify a wide variety of radio signals, including radar, communication, and navigation signals. It can also track the movement of these signals, which can be used to track the movement of enemy vehicles or aircraft. Kolchuga system is a valuable tool for military and civilian applications. It can be used for surveillance, target acquisition, and electronic warfare. Kolchuga system is a versatile and effective ESM system that is used by a variety of militaries and civilian organizations.
