LAV-25 is a light armored vehicle (LAV) that was developed by General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada for the United States Marine Corps (USMC). It is a 8×8 wheeled vehicle that is armed with a 25mm M242 Bushmaster chain gun and two 7.62mm M240 machine guns. The LAV-25 was first introduced in 1983 and has been used in a variety of conflicts, including the Gulf War, the War in Afghanistan, and the Iraq War. It is a versatile vehicle that can be used for a variety of missions, including reconnaissance, fire support, and troop transport. LAV-25 is well-armored for its size and weight. The base armor is proof against 7.62mm ball and artillery fragments. Additional armor can be added to protect the vehicle against 14.5mm ammunition. The LAV-25 is powered by a Detroit Diesel 6V53T turbocharged diesel engine that produces 275 horsepower. It has a top speed of 62 mph and a range of 300 miles.
