Maserati Shamal is a high-performance sports car that was produced by Italian automaker Maserati from 1990 to 1996. It was the successor to the Maserati Biturbo and was designed by Marcello Gandini. The Shamal was powered by a 3.2-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produced 326 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. It was mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The Shamal could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds and had a top speed of 170 mph. Shamal was a two-door, two-seater coupe with a steel monocoque chassis and a fiberglass body. It had a wide stance, large wheels, and a pronounced wedge shape. The interior was trimmed in leather and wood and featured a variety of amenities, including a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a sunroof, and a Bose sound system.
The Shamal was a relatively rare car, with only 369 units produced. It was expensive when new, with a price tag of $130,000. However, it has since become a sought-after collector’s car.
