Mazda MX-5 Speedster is a concept car that was unveiled at the 2015 SEMA Show. It is based on the fourth-generation MX-5 Miata and features a number of modifications that make it more lightweight and aerodynamic. The most striking feature of the Speedster is its low-cut windshield, which is reminiscent of classic speedsters from the 1950s. The windshield is also shorter and more steeply raked than the standard MX-5’s, which helps to improve aerodynamics.
Other modifications to the Speedster include a carbon fiber tonneau cover, a rear spoiler, and a set of 17-inch alloy wheels. The car also rides on a lowered suspension and features Brembo brakes.
Speedster is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 155 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
Mazda MX-5 Speedster is a one-of-a-kind concept car that is not scheduled for production. However, it does provide a glimpse into what a future high-performance MX-5 could look like. The 2015 Mazda MX-5 Speedster is a stylish and fun-to-drive car that is sure to turn heads wherever it goes. It is a perfect example of Mazda’s commitment to “Jinba Ittai,” or “car and driver as one.”
