Mercury Montego Coupe was a two-door muscle car produced by Mercury, a division of Ford Motor Company. It was the second generation of the Montego, which was introduced in 1964. The 1970 Montego was available in a variety of trims, including the base Montego, the Montego MX, and the Montego MX Brougham. Montego Coupe was designed to be a stylish and powerful muscle car. It had a long, low profile and a wide stance. The front end featured a large grille and rectangular headlights, while the rear end featured a taillight panel that stretched the entire width of the car. 1970 Montego Coupe was produced for one year only. A total of 110,357 Montegos were produced in 1970, of which 22,489 were coupes.
The 1970 Montego Coupe is a relatively rare car, and values can range from a few thousand dollars for a project car to over $20,000 for a fully restored example.
