Plymouth Satellite is a mid-size car that was produced by Chrysler from 1964 to 1974. The 1971 model year saw a significant redesign for the Satellite, with a new “fuselage” styling that was in line with the larger Chrysler C-Body models. Satellite was available in three body styles: two-door coupe, four-door sedan, and five-door station wagon. The coupe and sedan were the most popular body styles, and they were both available in two trim levels: base and Custom. The base Satellite was powered by a 225 cubic inch (3.7 liter) six-cylinder engine that produced 145 horsepower. The Custom Satellite was powered by a 318 cubic inch (5.2 liter) V8 engine that produced 230 horsepower. Satellite was a popular choice for families and individuals who wanted a stylish and comfortable mid-size car. It was also a popular choice for police departments, as it was a capable and reliable car that could handle the rigors of police work.
