Pontiac Ventura is an automobile model which was produced by Pontiac between 1960 and 1977. Ventura was first introduced for 1960 as a custom trim package on the Pontiac Catalina’s 123-inch B-body wheelbase, and was only available as the Vista four-door hardtop, or the Sports Coupe two-door hardtop.
1960 Pontiac Ventura was powered by a 3.8-liter V8 engine that produced 215 horsepower and 245 pound-feet of torque. The engine was mated to a three-speed manual transmission. The Ventura could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 10 seconds and had a top speed of 100 mph. Ventura was available in a variety of colors, including black, white, blue, red, and green. It was also available with a variety of options, including a power top, a power-operated trunk, and a rear window defroster. The Ventura was a popular car in its day, and it helped to boost Pontiac’s sales. It was also a popular car among celebrities, including Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra.
Ventura was discontinued after the 1960 model year, but it was revived in 1964 as a mid-size car. The Ventura was produced until 1977, when it was replaced by the Pontiac Phoenix.
