Seamax Aircraft is a Brazilian manufacturer of amphibious light sport aircraft (LSA) based in São João da Boa Vista, São Paulo. The company was founded in 1997 to produce amphibious aircraft by designer and engineer Miguel Rosário. The company’s first aircraft, the Seamax M-22, was designed in 1999 and first flew in 2000. The M-22 is a two-seat, low-wing aircraft powered by a single Rotax 912ULS engine. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 1,320 pounds (600 kg) and a range of 560 miles (900 km). The Xtreme is powered by a more powerful Rotax 914 engine and has a number of modifications to improve its aerobatic performance. Seamax Aircraft is currently developing a new amphibious aircraft, the Seamax M-24. The M-24 is a four-seat aircraft that will be powered by a single Lycoming IO-360 engine. It is expected to have a maximum takeoff weight of 2,500 pounds (1,134 kg) and a range of 1,000 miles (1,600 km). The company’s aircraft are popular with both private and commercial operators. They are used for a variety of purposes, including recreation, training, and search and rescue.
