Stryker 1128 MGS LP is a variant of the Stryker armored fighting vehicle that is armed with a 105mm low-pressure (LP) cannon. The MGS LP is designed to provide direct fire support to infantry and other friendly forces.
The MGS LP is based on the Stryker ICV, but it has a number of modifications to accommodate the 105mm cannon. The cannon is mounted in a turret that is located at the front of the vehicle. The turret also houses a 7.62mm machine gun for self-defense.
MGS LP is powered by a 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel engine that produces 350 horsepower. The engine is mated to an Allison X1100-5A0 automatic transmission. The MGS LP has a top speed of 60 mph and a range of 300 miles.
The MGS LP is in service with the United States Army and Marine Corps. It has been deployed in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
