M1129 Mortar Carrier (MCV_B) is an 8×8 wheeled armored mortar carrier of the Stryker family of combat vehicles produced by General Dynamics Land Systems. It is in use with the United States Army. Models with the double V-hull upgrade are known as the M1252 MCVV. M1129 Mortar Carrier, also known as MCV-B (Mortar Carrier Vehicle version B), is based on the Stryker infantry carrier vehicle, which is itself a descendant of the Swiss Mowag Piranha III. M1129 is equipped with a 120 mm mortar system that can fire a variety of munitions, including high-explosive, smoke, and illumination rounds. The mortar has a maximum range of 7,000 meters. The M1129 is also equipped with a fire control system that allows the crew to accurately fire the mortar from inside the vehicle. The fire control system includes a computer, a laser range finder, and a ballistic computer. M1129 is a highly mobile and versatile vehicle that can provide fire support to Stryker brigades. It is well-protected from small arms fire and artillery shrapnel.
