Subaru WRX STI R4 is a rally car that was produced by Subaru from 2017 to 2022. It was designed to compete in the FIA World Rally Championship’s R4 class, which is a class for cars that are based on production cars but have been modified for racing.
The WRX STI R4 was powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produced 300 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. This engine was mated to a six-speed sequential manual transmission. The WRX STI R4 had a curb weight of just 1,393 kilograms (3,070 pounds). WRX STI R4 was a successful rally car, winning the FIA World Rally Championship’s R4 class in 2017 and 2018. It was also a popular car among privateers, with over 100 units sold to customers. WRX STI R4 was discontinued in 2022. It was replaced by the Subaru WRX STI S4, which is a more powerful and sophisticated rally car.
